Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) was a risk-based approach to gaining visibility into where your sensitive data was located, who had access to it, how it had been used, and how stored data and applications were secured from the core to the cloud to the edge. With so much of your workload moving to the cloud or already in the cloud, perimeter protection was no longer a sufficient method for protecting your data; therefore, this emphasized the need for a more data-centric approach leveraging DSPM.
