Anderson County Office of the Coroner Improving Timely, Accurate Decedent Identification with Mobile Biometric Check (MBC)

The Anderson County Office of the Coroner adopted Mobile Biometric Check (MBC) to improve the speed and accuracy of identifying deceased individuals. Previously, fingerprint identification was slowed by manual processes, limited equipment, and delays from external agencies. With MBC, investigators use a smartphone-based tool to capture fingerprints and quickly confirm identities, making the workflow faster and more consistent. The system now supports most cases, improving identification rates, reducing delays, and strengthening confidence in notifications to families.
