Bacula - Post-Quantum Cryptography

Thank you for your interest in this resource!

Quantum computing poses a serious future risk to current encryption methods, especially for long-term backup data that could be collected today and decrypted later (“harvest now, decrypt later”). Bacula addresses this by using quantum-resilient symmetric encryption (AES-256) and preparing to adopt NIST-approved post-quantum cryptography standards through its OpenSSL-based architecture.
