Auditable AI Governance Built for Your Agency's Mission

Public sector agencies are moving fast to put AI into real workflows, but speed creates a problem traditional IT security review was never built to answer: when an autonomous system takes an action, who is accountable for it, and can that decision hold up months later in front of an inspector general, an oversight committee, or a court. Agentic Defense Solutions built ARIA to answer that question before it gets asked.

ARIA is the governance layer that sits between whatever AI models or agents an agency already runs and the systems those agents are allowed to touch. Every action passes through policy enforcement before it executes, not after. Every outcome is recorded in a tamper-evident ledger that replays back to the exact rule, policy, or human approval that produced it, and every approval is tied to a named individual, never a shared login or a service account. Agencies that answer to appropriations committees, inspectors general, and the public need a program that survives its first audit. ARIA is built to produce that record before an auditor asks for it.

Human-in-the-loop means something different to every vendor that claims it. ARIA implements five distinct, selectable modes of human authority, from fully advisory oversight to a hard gate that stops execution until a person approves it. A solicitation can specify exactly the posture a mission requires against those five modes, by name.

ARIA deploys air-gapped, on-premises, or in disconnected operations, with FIPS-validated cryptography and CAC/PIV-based identity, and no outbound dependency requirement, for classified and controlled environments that cannot depend on constant cloud connectivity. Agencies that want a ready-built intelligence application on top of that same governance layer can add Hermes, which configures to a mission in days rather than months.

Agentic Defense Solutions was founded by operators from the U.S. Intelligence Community, Palantir, and Snowflake, and builds ARIA so an agency can explain any AI decision it makes, with evidence.

FAQ

What is ARIA?

ARIA is the governance platform that sits between an agency's AI models or agents and the systems those agents are allowed to act on. It enforces policy before an action executes, records every decision in a form that replays, and holds a named human accountable at every point authority matters. ARIA is not a model, an agent, or an orchestration framework, and Agentic Defense Solutions does not build any of those.

Is ARIA FedRAMP authorized?

ARIA is built to FedRAMP High–aligned standards and is configured for high-consequence environments, including air-gapped, on-premises, and disconnected operations with FIPS-validated cryptography. Contact us for current authorization status before relying on it in an ATO package.

What is the difference between ARIA and Hermes, and do I need both?

ARIA is the governance platform. Hermes is the intelligence application built on top of it. Teams that want to build their own mission application on a governed foundation use ARIA directly. Teams that want a ready-configured analyst application use Hermes, which runs on ARIA and is never sold without it.

Can ARIA run in air-gapped or classified environments?

Yes. ARIA deploys air-gapped, on-premises, or in disconnected operations, with no required outbound dependencies and FIPS-validated cryptography, so it does not assume constant cloud connectivity.

What does “human-in-the-loop mean with ARIA?

It depends on which of ARIA's five authority modes a workflow uses: Advisory, Conditional, Gated, Deferred, or Escalated, ranging from a model that executes and is reviewed afterward to a hard gate that stops execution until a named person approves it. Gated is the default. A solicitation can specify against these five modes directly, rather than the phrase “human-in-the-loop,” which means something different to every vendor that uses it.
