For biometric comparators and presentation attack detection, bias is something that should be actively addressed. Bias is especially noticeable for face biometrics. This article presents the findings of independent lab testing of ID R&R PAD software that is integrated into the RESILIANT ID product offering, which explains what demographic bias in AI-based facial PAD systems means and offers examples of techniques used by AI developers to eliminate bias.
