This event included hands-on experience and an opportunity to network with other Public Sector peers in Austin. Our beginner's workshop included an introduction to Tableau Desktop & Tableau Server and attendees were able to take their skills to the next level with our afternoon, Unlocking the Power of Data, session.

In the Tableau 101 workshop, attendees learned how to:

  • Connect to and prepare their data
  • Build compelling visualizations, including maps and trend charts
  • Navigate the Tableau Desktop interface with confidence 

The Tableau 201 workshop featured live demos and peer-led use cases, including:

  • Visualizing CAPPS Budget and Expenditure Reporting – Saw how peers are using Tableau to create clear, actionable dashboards and shared best practices
  • Tableau Semantics + Tableau Core – Discovered how to maximize platform interoperability for deeper insights
  • Tableau Agent in Desktop – Explored how this AI-powered assistant can guide attendees through data prep, calculations, and visualization design
  • Custom Calendaring + Tableau Pulse Features – Learned how to use the newest features to stay ahead of the curve
